Arun started his journey in the vast world of Bharata Natyam at the age, 4, under Smt. Shashi Rekha, an exponent of Mysore Bãni. He later gained further insight of this art form under Smt. Gayatri Keshavan of the vintage, Pandanallur.
A Life Sciences’ graduate, his interest has motivated him to pursue an honours’ degree in Bharata Natyam.
Brisk-vibrant footwork, symmetry in the body-language and expressions that speak are the essential ingredients of Pandanallur Bãni of Bharata Natyam, Arun has imbibed all the ingredients essentially; which has made him one of the noted upcoming artistes. Apart his dance, Arun is also a noted Cymbalist (Nattuvangam) amongst the dance circle. A graded artiste of Doordarshan and ICE TV, Bangalore, Arun has further added to his skills’ in other forms such as Caranatic Vocal and Veena from Vidwan. D Balakrishna and Vidwan. R Ramesh. Arun has set a bench-mark in Indian theatre as well.
Currently training under Sri. Sathyanarayana Raju for further nuances’ of Pandanallur bãni of Bharata Natyam, Arun has many laurels’ to his credit.
Arun , recently set-up his dance institutions “Shankara” in Bangalore, to preserve and propagate this spiritual dance form.
