WRITER | EDITOR | RESEARCHER

I'm the Special Projects/Green Editor at the Reno News and Review, the Editor of Wildflower Magazine, and the slinkster-cool blog-girl for A.L.L. for Education. It's my purpose in life to bring information to the masses. Words are my passion. I arm myself with research, logic, insight (and a bit of humor just for kicks).

I'm completing my Master's degree in Literacy at the University of Nevada, Reno. Much of my research is on the use of games to increase societal science literacy. I also research hackerspaces, technology-based subcultures, digital literacy, and open source technology.

I was born and raised in the Bay area but currently reside in Reno, Nevada - its stark contrast of urban and rural, desert and mountain, suits my personality perfectly. I love literature, art, video games, zines, tea, cold weather, open source software, pictures of Iceland, fantasy/sci-fi, iced soy raspberry mochas and combat boots.
