Athena Kolinski, M.A., is a Religious Studies professor for the online bachelor’s program at University of Philosophical Research, where she attained her second master’s degree in Consciousness Studies. She also attended California State University, Northridge for her first master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (focus in Religious and Chicano Studies), and a bachelor of arts in Religious Studies.

Her passion for dreamwork unfolded in 2007, when she attended her first International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD) conference. Since then Athena has been a member of IASD and the So Cal IASD Regional Group. In 2010, Athena presented her second thesis on "The Mythology of the Major Arcana of the Tarot", as a way of mapping out where one is in their dreams. Over the years the presentations have transformed to focus more on how one can use the tarot as an empowering tool to unlock messages in their dreams.

Athena loves sharing her dreams on her blog www.starcarddreaming.com as a way to help others explore theirs, and is expanding her reach through her business Star Card Consulting (aka Star Card Dreaming) in which she offers individual and group dreamwork sessions using the Tarot. In her dreamwork sessions, she walks the client through the Tarotpy method (created by Lauren Schneider), guiding them to find their own answers. As a tool, the Tarot allows the subconscious to communicate through imagery, symbolism, synchronicity and significance revealing new layers of the dream.
