"If we teach today's students as we taught yesterday's, we rob them of tomorrow..." John Dewey
I believe this vision should involve dynamic, student-centered environments, which enable and assist individual student achievement. That learning does and must occur outside the school walls, and leads teachers, students and parents into new frontiers. I believe it is more important than ever that students are actively engaged in their learning which requires them to access, comprehend, and act upon knowledge – and that teachers believe there are multiple means by which students learn and demonstrate competencies. We live in a global and digital society that is evolving daily - A world that requires our students to be critical thinkers and innovators for professions that don't yet exist. A world where our teachers need to feel comfortable learning along side our students and understand that failure, through reflection, is sometimes the best springboard for discussion. A world where leadership indicates a willingness to be a risk-taker, collaborator, learner, mentor and problem-solver - ALL while having the capacity of seeing the big picture.
