My name is Mr. Augustine Rono, a Kenyan Married to Mrs. Margaret Wairimu Rono and a father of three. Professionally I do library Systems. As a trained Librarian my role is geared towards implementations of modern library Systems in Universities, Teacher Training Colleges, Corporate, Secondary Schools and non governmental organizations/institutions in Kenya and its environs.
I have worked closely with Librarians in Kenya on identification of better technologies available for use in library. I have focused greatly on Open-source library systems majoring on KOHA Library software implementation and upgrades.

1. Kenya Highlands Evangelical University -Ongoing
Currently I am steering the use of KOHA at Kenya Highlands Evangelical University, a process I have been involved from KOHA solution identification, installation, customization and use. Project Website Reference: http://41.57.103.238/

Involved in Installation, Customization, Data migration from Mandarin and Integration of the same to KOHA Library system and user training.

Institute of Policy Analysis and Research- IPAR
I worked with Institute of Policy Analysis and Research- IPAR a think-tank based in Nairobi, Kenya as a Resource Center Assistant, where I learned a lot on information management, the opportunity opened my eyes on usage of Library software, During my tenure at the IPAR, I was sponsored for library trainings within and outside Nairobi that have impacted positively on my career as a systems librarian.
I am an active member, KOHA Kenya Community a movement that tries to bring together all KOHA users in Kenya into a common platform.
