Ava Weintraub

Los Angeles

A native Los Angeleno, Ava is passionate about telling the stories that need to be told. As a documentary photojournalist she has traveled from the streets of downtown L. A. to the streets of Clarksdale, Mississippi, from a North Dakota Indian reservation to the small towns of Eastern Poland, each time searching to shine a light on a subject that needed it. She started in photography when she was 12 years old with a Kodak Instamatic and has been shooting ever since.

In October 2012 Ava attended the prestigious invitation only Eddie Adams Workshop XXV. She had the opportunity to meet and work with some of the top photojournalists in the industry. During the workshop Ava worked one-on-one with documentary and editorial photographer Doug Menueuz.

Most recently Ava attended documentary masterclasses with VII photographers, Ron Haviv and Ashely Gilbertson. Each workshop offered an opportunity to work one-on-one with these award winning photojournalists.
