Ayesha Khanna is a technology, urbanization and education expert with over 15 years of experience in product and service innovation and human capital development. She advises companies and governments on smart city related strategies and investments.
She is CEO of Technology Quotient, which develops content and technology platforms for the vocational and K-12 educational sectors. Within the company, Applied Skills develops courses to boost productivity in rapidly growing sectors such as hospitality and retail, and 21C teaches 21st century skills to children, including concepts in coding, robotics, and design. In 2014, she joined the Singapore Ministry of Education's ASPIRE Steering Committee on higher education reform.
Ayesha previously founded the Hybrid Reality Institute, a research and advisory group that explores emerging technologies and their social, economic and political implications. She also directs the Future Cities Group at the London School of Economics and has been a Faculty Advisor at Singularity University.
Ayesha is the Editorial Director of Look Ahead, an award-winning multimedia series on global innovation trends published by The Economist Group. She has been published and quoted on technology, innovation and smart cities in the New York Times, BusinessWeek, TIME, Newsweek, Forbes, Harvard Business Review, Strategy+Business, Foreign Policy, Straits Times and BigThink. She is author of Straight Through Processing for Financial Services (2008) and co-author of Hybrid Reality: Thriving in the Emerging Human-Technology Civilization (2012).
Ayesha is on the Board of Advisors for Humanity+, a Fellow at the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies, and was the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of EGO Magazine (2004-2011), one of the first arts and culture magazines for the South Asian diaspora in New York City.
Ayesha has a BA (honors) in Economics from Harvard University, an MS in Operations Research from Columbia University and is completing her PhD on urban information infrastructures at the London School of Economics.
