Dr. Barshinger served as Superintendent of the Batavia Public School from July 2006 to June 2013. Previously, he had served as Superintendent of Schools for two DuPage County school districts. He served Glen Ellyn School District 41 from 2003-2007, a 3500 student, 5 building K-8 school district in Glen Ellyn, IL and Winfield School District 34 from 1995-2003, a 500 student, 2 building K-8 school district in Winfield in Illinois. Previously, he has served as Assistant Superintendent, Program Coordinator, Reading Coordinator, Principal and elementary, junior high and high school teacher. Dr. Barshinger received his Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree, and Doctorate from Northern Illinois University. He is a resident of the Batavia School District with his wife. He has always been involved in community and professional service groups. His service has included the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, President of Batavia Rotary, Chair and Treasurer of the Illinois School District Liquid Asset Fund Plus (ISDLAF ), an investment fund for Illinois School Treasurers acting on behalf of School Districts, Community College Districts and Educational Service Regions. Aurora University, faculty for Doctoral students preparing for district leadership positions; Special Projects consulting, serving school districts and school/district leader on a variety of coaching and special assessment projects.
