Beau Palin

Former high school football star Beau Palin is an accomplished collegiate student-athlete. At present, Beau Palin attends Yale University, where he studies ecology and evolutionary biology, and plays defensive end on the football team. In his spare time, he volunteers in the community.

Beau Palin comes from a long line of standout college football athletes. His grandfather was a member of the Princeton Tigers football team between 1947-1951, his father captained the Stanford football team in 1974, his eldest older brother played football at Yale from 2002 to 2006, his sister captained the field hockey team at Northwestern in 2005 in addition to playing on the basketball team for two years, his other brother was a captain for the Carleton College football team in 2010, and his younger brother currently plays football at the University of Dayton. Continuing the tradition, Beau Palin himself recently was elected team captain of the Yale Bulldogs football team for the 2013 season.

Before coming to Yale, Beau Palin attended University School of Milwaukee (USM) in River Hills, Wisconsin. In addition to earning a 3.9 GPA, cum laude honors, and serving as prefect at USM, he established an impressive football record. His major USM football achievements include receiving a Ken Laird Football Leadership Award, playing linebacker and tight end for an All-Conference first team, and being selected by his coaches to play in the 2009 Shrine All-Star game. He also excelled in hockey and baseball while at USM; he lettered with the school's varsity teams all four years and captained both teams during his senior year.

Outside of academics and athletics, Beau Palin has been involved in community service activities for many years. This past summer, he served as an assistant director at Operation Opportunity, a nonprofit that assists military veterans with pursuing college degrees. From 2011 to 2012, he volunteered with a local children's hospital. In the past, he also has helped out with flood relief efforts in rural Wisconsin, and has traveled to Papua New Guinea and Guyana with his family to build homes in underserved communities.
