Melissa-Jai Buford

Illinois

I was born in Northern Illinois, to a rebellious hippie, and a Sargent Major in the U.S. Army. I used to resent being a "love child". Not any more. They were very awesome people, but neither wanted children...Fortunatley, the Force was with me; at age 6, I was adopted by a talented woman (my grandmother) who introduced me to the arts. I currently work with found objects, creative photography and write short non-fiction stories. I sold my first found object art piece at the age of 7. I took my first creative photo at age 9. I've earned degrees in both Mental Health/Addiction Studies and Applied Behavioral Science. I like studying people and finding out why (naturally)... I love creating, and do so daily. I try to spread LOVE everywhere I go. I've won a few honorable mentions for my photos, and have been published in short story anthologies. I'm looking to do significant art work one day.

Yes, I have baggage...so what?...it's worn, soft and supple, and all the pieces match.
