After I graduated from Dickinson with a BA in French, I taught Chemistry and Mathematics for two years in Masasi, Tanzania for the Peace Corps. And no, they do not speak French but rather Swahili in Tanzania:) I did not get to use my degree. I moved back to the States and was hired by Windham Brannon, a local CPA firm in Atlanta, and I worked for this top-notch accounting firm for over eleven and half years. Then I worked for The Georgia Society of CPAs as its community relations manager for over two years. I left GSCPA to work for TrueWealth, an Atlanta RIA, as its Human Capital Manager and Marketing Specialist. Now I am the HR Manager at Points of Light, and of course, I still have yet to use my French. C'est la vie.
