Brandy Biggar
Marine Biologist, Student, and Teaching Assistant in Auckland, New Zealand
Hi! Thanks for visiting my page!
I am a Marine Biologist living and studying in Auckland, New Zealand. I was born and raised in Canada. I completed my BSc in Victoria, BC, and my MSc in St. John's, Newfoundland.
I love studying and enjoying the ocean. I spend my free time swimming, snorkeling, beach walking, hiking, and caring for kitties and puppies.
I work for MDPI Journals as an English Editor. I am a PhD student and a teaching assistant at the University of Auckland.
My research interests include marine, coastal, and invertebrate ecology, as well as conservation and restoration.
I am currently studying the impacts of suspended sediment on the NZ green-lipped mussel, Perna canaliculus, to aid in restoration and improving aquaculture yields.
My master's research focused on the impact of warming on populations of an invasive species, the European Green Crab - one of the World's 100 Worst Invaders.
