George Birbilis

  Born in Ioannina, Greece, at 1975. Got engineering diploma at Computer Engineering & Informatics Department of Patras University. While being at the university, started working at RA-CTI (www.cti.gr) and later on moved to its Athens branch. Left RA-CTI after some years of work on E-Slate educational microworlds platform (e-slate.cti.gr) and various other projects (including EU and Greek goverment funded ones).
  Since then has been working as a freelance consultant and programmer/architect with several companies and institutions in Greece and as a technical reviewer for international book publishers. For several years now also being an independent sofware vendor, providing mostly software components via Kagi's (www.kagi.com) online services.
  Apart from a freelancer, is currently a PhD student on "MultiAgent Robotics and their applications on highly redundant manipulators and mobile robot swarms" at the Mechanical Enginnering and Aeronautics Department at the University of Patras (robotics.mech.upatras.gr).
  Work and community presence recognized by major companies like Microsoft (Most Valuable Professional - MVP Visual Developer J# 2004-2010, also alpha/beta tester), Borland (Spirit of Delphi award at BorCon 2001) and Apple (alpha/beta tester).
