I was born and raised on the South side of Chicago, DeMarlo "BlackSkinny" Hatchett; I'm an artist dedicated to the Hip-Hop culture. From an early age, I enjoyed performing impressions of my favorite artists such as; NWA, Public Enemy, Tupac, Rakim, Biggie, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg in which I also recreated their videos.

By the age of 16, I had developed my own style of putting together a unique blend of words to form a rhyme and deeply describe what I witness growing up in the "Hood," and what i had to overcome. I was deeply influenced by the traditional elements of the Hip-Hop culture because I felt as if the culture paid a way for us 'as citizen' to survive in the world around us and that we had the power to overcome any situation.

I made my reputation for being outgoing and having a drive to motivate my artistry and creativity. I grew up indulging myself in perfecting my artwork and music. I survived a life of multiple gunshot wounds and I took a trip to the Vienna Correctional Center where I was incarcerated for a few months. Just like any one else, I had to overcome many obstacles in my life's journey. I'm willing to dedicate my life to continue my conquest of going for my goals and my dreams. I focus on staying honest and doing my best to grow and learn and on my journey, to teach others. I refuse to not to stop until I have conquered my goals and dreams.

As of now, my determination by will power and with the strength from God, is to inspire others with my music is evident and C.I.A.M. (Creativity Is A Must) t-shirt line and also, the "Chicago Is A Movement Campaign." I'm working to master my lyrical prowers on self-produced mixtapes such as: "Mission Impossible", "The Struggle", and the forthcoming "C.I.A.M Music presents blackskinny in the arrivial mixtape vol. 1".
