Anne Ku
Wailuku, Hawaii
Born in Brunei, I grew up in Taiwan and Okinawa, in a concentric tri-lingual environment, where our fathers worked together, mothers learned flower arrangment and cake decorating together, and we went to the same schools on American military bases. Perhaps it was watching my classmates relocate every 2 or 3 years while we (in our civilian housing area) didn't that stirred a wanderlust in me. Or perhaps it's the rootlessness and restlessness of TCKs that explains why I have a yearning for the unknown, the road less travelled. I have lived in 8 countries, and travelled to fewer countries than my age. I need to catch up.
