Blue School

New York

A private, not-for-profit school in New York City, Blue School takes an innovative approach to learning. Blue School strives to incorporate into its curriculum best practices based on scientific research on childhood development. Based in downtown Manhattan and established in 2006, Blue School has grown rapidly to include more than 200 students from age 2 through fifth grade. The school has gained popularity among parents seeking to educate their children in a progressive environment, which has led to plans for expansion to middle school. Having found a permanent home on NYC’s Water Street, the school will grow strategically, adding one grade level per year through eighth grade with a 2017 expansion completion date.

Combining academics with social and artistic experiences, Blue School designs its curriculum to nurture students in an inquiry-based educational setting. Dedicated to helping students connect with their creativity and expression and develop the social skills they need to build healthy relationships throughout life, Blue School partners with parents to raise their children and help them flourish.
