Bob Bassari

Bob Bassari got his start in the financial services market in 1991 as an Individual Stock and Options Trader after graduating from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in merchandising and business. Currently the Chief Executive Officer of BOB BASSARI INC., an independent investment advisory and financial planning practice focusing on various aspects of retirement planning, Bob Bassari’s 18 years in the field cover a wide range of the financial planning sector.

After working for four years as an individual trader, Bob Bassari moved on to become a registered representative for Dean Witter Reynolds (now Morgan Stanley Smith Barney). A year later, Bob Bassari transitioned to an independent practice with Dreher & Associates, Inc. In order to offer his private clients a greater variety of investment options, Bob Bassari joined Financial Network in 2001 before shifting to the corporate side of investment planning for several years, beginning in 2003. First working for Vera Vest, where he was in charge of the Kraft Foods Inc. retirement plan, and then for short periods at CitiBank and Banc One Securities Corporation, Bob Bassari’s corporate career culminated in a position with the American International Group, Inc. (AIG) financial planning department, where he was responsible for a $50 million portfolio.

As President of BOB BASSARI INC., working exclusively in private practice for the last six years, Bob Bassari has returned to his financial services career roots. As a strong believer in the crucial role of long-term customer service in the financial advising field, working with individuals on the personal and complex issues surrounding retirement planning is an ideal fit for Bob Bassari’s wealth of experience and particular investment planning philosophy. Bob Bassari also contributes to The Smile Train, an organization working to provide cleft palate surgeries to children in developing nations, and the Mercy Home for Boys & Girls. After one of his clients introduced him to the work of the Pan African Association of Chicago, Bob Bassari began contributing support to the organization, which helps refugees who immigrate to the United States from troubled regions of Africa. In his spare time, Bob Bassari counts investments, travel, and music among his hobbies.
