Where did my health journey begin? How did I get here? What's the story?

At age 42, I realized that if I didn't grasp the reigns on my health and my body, the downward decline was approaching at a break neck speed. Inspired by an old friend and now celebrity trainer Holly Perkins, I set out to transform my body. The goal? To see the body I had always envisioned but never had - not for vanity's sake - but for peace of mind. To prove to myself that my 40s weren't a beginning to an end, but the beginning of anew.

What I've discovered to date astounds me...a passion for a career change in a field I never thought would interest me, a love for running that I could not have imagined existed within me and a true understanding of the link to body-mind-spirit. The adventure continues everyday. The challenges, the victories, the lessons learned. My blog serves as my out in the universe journal of this new life I live. I'm dedicated to getting outside my comfort zone, testing my limits and believing that my body is far more capable than my mind gives it credit for. I also hope it will be a resource for helpful, health-full information and act as inspiration in your own lives. Every story is personal, but in some way, we are all connected in this journey.

My ultimate hope is to help others along their own personal health journies and grasp the heart, mind and muscle connection. Living a healthier life is about far more than numbers on a scale. That has been my biggest discovery to date.
