René G. Boscio is Puerto Rican composer/songwriter. He holds a bachelor's degree in music composition at the Music Conservatory of Puerto Rico. In his short musical career Mr. Boscio has been awarded several recognitions and prizes. In 2009 he was awarded ASCAP Foundation Rudy Pérez Songwriting Scholarship, he also received honorable mentions in the New York Songwriters Circle 2009 Songwriting Contest and the BMI Foundation's 2010 Annual Peer Music Latin Scholarship for his songs 'Forever For You' and 'El día más bello del mundo'. He has written over 70 songs and musical compositions for just about every instrument in the orchestral tradition, and compositions for Concert Band, and for full orchestra which was premiered in May 2012 by the Bayamón Symphony Orchestra. René has also worked in the independent film industry scoring tv commercials, and soundtracks for several student and independent short films, one of which, titled "Bicicletas", produced by Cinestesia, won Best Fictional Short at the 2013 Rincón International Film Festival. He also composed music for a few scenes in the full-lenght feature Il Viaggio directed by Vicente Juarbe and produced by Idalia Pérez Garay. He's been commissioned three compositions for the Puerto Rican modern dance company 'Andanza'. He also won first place in a competition for a comission for the Flute Ensamble of the Music Conservatory of Puerto Rico which was presented in the Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. Boscio currently pursues a career in writing music for media and theatre, as well as working in the singer/songwriter's business.
