Babis, born and raised in Athens, Greece, has studied drums, piano, guitar and classical theory and harmony at the Hellenic Conservatory of Music and Arts and has also taken private lessons in drums guided by teachers such as Vaggelis Moulakakis, who he still considers his greatest influence.

From year 2000 and on, he has been collaborating with artists such as Paschalis Tsarouchas, Nikolas Adespotos, Rallia Christidou, Dionysis Kotsakis, Konstantinos Matsikas, Marina Sena and is a member of several bands like Sinema, Loose Rag, RhT, gigging extensively and recording several albums in the process.

He is currently teaching drums privately, at Mesogeia Music School and at Koinoniko Odeio (Social Conservatory).
