It all started back in high school when I "borrowed" my mom's VHS-C camcorder. Hoping to become the James Cameron of skate and surf videos, I spent more time capturing kick flips and editing epic waves than riding a board.

I started my career working for Motion Theory, an award-winning design and video production firm in Los Angeles, where I worked on commercials and music videos for clients like Nike, HP, Cadillac and R.E.M. I transitioned home to Hawaii to be closer to family and continued to edit and animate as a freelancer. Eventually, I decided to pursue my dream of building a production company of my own, and Berad Studio was born.

I subsequently began blogging about my adventures in the Hawaii video production industry, and established HawaiiShoots.com as a venue to dialogue with others, host regular meet-ups and workshops, and grow and build the local production community.
