I was born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, but somehow wound up at Oberlin College. Yeah, it's an ongoing process to figure out how to blend my working class Southern/Appalachian background with my bourgeois education.

I'm now based in Baltimore, where I get to spend my days as an Admissions Counselor for Goucher College. My jam is connecting prospective students to college and, in particular, underrepresented populations to the magic and opportunity of a liberal arts education.

In my spare time I still swing dance, occasionally moonlighting as an installer of temporary dance floors &/or volunteer manager &/or on-site event logistics staff for swing dance events.

In my leftover spare time, I read a whole lot of things in print and online, share information and meals with friends and coworkers, and get to know Baltimore.
