Kelly Harris is the owner of KHD Communications, LLC specializing in creative communications and digital details for local and national arts, culture and entertainment events in New Orleans.

By leveraging BrassyBrown.com, a nationally recognized blog for women of color, KHD delivers a strategically cultivated audience. Kelly offers a range of expertise and an experienced portfolio that includes work at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, The Essence Music Festival, municipal governments, literary festivals, and more.

Growing up in a family-owned business she learned early how to brand, negotiate and build relationships. An artist at heart, Kelly blends smart business with cultural care for the city, citizens and clients she serves. It’s been said that if you have an event in New Orleans, you want Kelly on your behind-the-scenes team.

Kelly graduated from Kent State University with a degree in communications, and received her MFA in creative writing from Lesley University. She has been awarded fellowships/residencies from FemFuture, Creative Capital, Cave Canem, Fine Arts Work Center and the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland.

She lives in New Orleans with her husband and daughter.
