I was previously a senior developer and Tech Lead for Aol Tech, doing web development for Engadget, TUAW, Joystiq and others. I left that job to pursue an independent career as a web/app developer, podcaster, and writer working at home. I recently took a position as Technical Writer for Oracle's Developer Relations team (remote), focusing on creating content and working on publishing workflows in addition to managing the GitHub org for my division. My work in this position has earned me the title of Principal Software Developer, though I'm still responsible for content as well.

I've been working remotely since 2007 and don't see myself ever going back to an office. I'm really good at this, and thrive working in my own environment.

In my free time, I develop Marked 2, the best darn Markdown tool in the world. I also make Bunch, a plain text automation tool for Mac.

I blog. I've written for The Unofficial Apple Weblog, MacStories, Macworld, Lifehacker, and am self-published on iBooks.

I have a podcast with Christina Warren from GitHub called Overtired, which focuses on mental health, technology, and occasionally Taylor Swift.

I enjoy hiking, cats, dogs, general geekery, and solving problems in elegant and creative ways.
