Hello world!
I'm one of those lucky bastards that get to work their dream - in my case, making very good video games. I run a studio called Image & Form in rainy, windy Gothenburg, Sweden, with 20+ of the friendliest and most talented people I've met. Since we have approximately 30 seconds of sunlight over the course of the year, we Swedes don't mind spending time in-house making computer games.
When moving to Tokyo in 1989 as an extremely naive boy and then on to San Francisco for a two-year spell in 1995, I worked pretty hard to carve out a niche for myself over the years as a graphic designer and programmer. A few years ago I realized that I know a few people who do graphics and programming a lot better than me, so these days I'm content running the studio and doing PR/marketing for our games.
Image & Form has released four noteworthy games lately (and a whole slew not quite as noteworthy before that), namely Anthill for iOS and SteamWorld Dig, SteamWorld Heist and SteamWorld Dig 2 for Nintendo 3DS / PC / Mac / Linux / PS4 / PS Vita/ Nintendo Wii U / Xbox One / Switch. Anthill was selected by Apple as Game of the Week at launch and nominated for a couple of GOTY awards at Nordic Games in 2012. SteamWorld Dig was nominated for and won a number of GOTY awards worldwide 2013. SteamWorld Heist was nominated for and won a number of GOTY awards worldwide 2015. SteamWorld Dig 2 did the same thing in 2017, but also picked up special awards from Famitsu and Nordic Game Awards.
Right now I'm working hard with the rest of the guys and girls to promote our coming games.
I'm married (sorry girls), live in beautiful Jonsered, the proud father of three wonderful children, and a bonus father of an additional two. A sucker for karaoke whenever given the opportunity, I sing in two bands and play at least one hour of chess every day. Yeah... so cool, and yet so nerdy.
