Bruno Goulet

“Serial entrepreneurs are economic artists, bringing together economic resources rather than putting paint on canvas. Like artists, they are passionate about their work and driven from one creation to the next.” – William Dennis

Bruno Goulet is a serial Internet entrepreneur and self-made millionaire. He started his first successful business in 2001 from his parents’ basement with almost no money and thousands of dollars in student debt. It took Bruno and his partner (Jonathan Defoy) 10 years of perseverance and hard work to realize the goal they envisioned for Biztree. Business-in-a-Box, their initial product, is now the world’s most popular business document template software with over 4 million users. Without receiving any external funding, Biztree has generated over $20,000,000 in online sales and has formed partnerships with some of the world’s most admired companies such as Microsoft, Apple, HP, Lenovo, IBM, Vistaprint and Ingram Micro.

Recognized by Google as a leading expert on paid search advertising, Bruno has mastered all key aspects of internet marketing from traffic generation (PPC, SEO, affiliates, email and social marketing) to website conversion optimization and web analytics. He continually strives to keep himself up to date on the latest technologies and developments in this field. Bruno is also a computer, systems, software and Internet expert with over 15 years of experience. His father, Denis Goulet, who is Enterprise IT Architect for the National Assembly of Quebec, introduced him to computers when he was about five years old. He got his first personal computer, a 486 DX2-66, in 1990 when he was only 12 years old. In 2000, with only two courses left, he dropped out from completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Laval University in Quebec City, with specializations in entrepreneurship and management information systems (MIS). He then joined Decisif Software, his uncle’s CRM and Computer Telephony startup which had just received funding from Desjardins Investments.

In 2011 he founded StartupNow which focuses on helping entrepreneurs quickly start a successful business. Bruno sees himself as a creative and visionary leader who can develop and market technological innovations; setting ambitious business goals and executing them profitably. He knows how to attract, retain and lead talent, an invaluable skill in a knowledge economy.
