Christina Buiza
Vancouver, BC
Sociology student at Simon Fraser University, graduating in December 2014. My aspiration is to work in marketing, communications or public relations within the technology, digital media or non-profit sector.
I love creating and sharing stories. My professional goal is to help people and companies grow their businesses by spreading their stories through writing, social media, content marketing and public relations. My interests are in technology, entrepreneurship, and its influences on people, society, and social issues.
I currently work in Marketing & Communications at VentureLabs, a Vancouver tech accelerator for sciences, biotech and engineering-based startups. Outside of work, I'm an avid volunteer, and currently support organizations focused on leadership, community building, and entrepreneurship. These include Startup Canada, the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and SFU Career Services.
In the past, I held marketing, communications and business development roles in organizations, companies and startups, including TEDxSFU, AIESEC, OMG Social Media, BookVibe, and was a mentee of the Vancouver Board of Trade's Leaders of Tomorrow program.
I enjoy meeting new people, and am always looking for ways to lend a hand. If you're interested in technology and social sciences, that's even better. Let's talk!
