I was interviewed by Musee Magazine about my career as a photographer, with highlights such as photographing the Queen and Mumford and Sons:

I live in Lewes, East Sussex, but am originally from New England. Photography has been a passion since I first learned to use a darkroom 35 years ago. Growing up on the Massachusetts coast supplied a quality of light and scope of landscape that was good training for a photographer’s eye. I came to the UK over 20 years ago after completing a BA in Fine Art at Wesleyan University.

I am an experienced graphic designer. Ten years working as an art director sharpened my design skills and my ability to edit photographs. Among my accomplishments is an MA in Urban Design, which has given me a heightened awareness of how our urban centres affect those of us who live in and use them and this is reflected in a large part of my work.

My photographic work covers a wide range of subjects (architecture, working environments, weddings, reportage, portraits, landscapes…). I feel very lucky that my photography practice can include such diverse themes. It leads me to interesting situations that can sometimes be very challenging but rarely boring. One that stands out for me was the commission to photograph HRH Queen Elizabeth when she visited Harvey’s Brewery in Lewes. It was a real honour and a fascinating experience. Another exciting event was spending a few hours one summer with the wonderful band Mumford and Sons taking PR shots for their visit to Lewes, East Sussex.

A year ago I would never have been able to imagine all that I have done over the past 12 months. Every year seems to be like that. I am very excited to see how the next 12 months will unfold.
