Caroline McCarthy

New York, NY

I'm the vice president of communications and content at true[x], a digital advertising company that aims to bring the excitement and creativity of the television commercial to the web. We were acquired by 21st Century Fox in 2015.

I joined true[x] after spending a year as a freelance editorial director working with both startup and Fortune 500 clients on brand storytelling, event curation, and product launches. I have also worked at Google, leading influencer outreach and event partnerships for Google+, and serving as managing editor of the Think Quarterly brand; and as a journalist and TV commentator for CNET.com, a division of CBS, covering entrepreneurship and digital culture. I was named to Forbes' "30 Under 30 In Media" list in 2012 and twice to Business Insider's "Silicon Alley 100" list.

I serve am vice chair of the board of directors at MOUSE, a nonprofit that brings 21st-century learning to underserved students; and I serve on the advisory councils of the Center for Democracy and Technology and Concern Worldwide's Centre for Innovation and Health.

I'm a proud alum of Princeton University, where I majored in history of science and creative writing. I was also a member of the varsity crew team.
