A visionary thinker in the realm of education administration, Dr. Carolyn Koos stays on top of the latest advancements in her field through continuous professional development. Holding a Ph.D. from Illinois State University, Dr. Koos has acquired numerous advanced degrees including both a master of science in education and an education specialist degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Her graduate work has earned her an eMBA from Canada’s Lansbridge University, and a master of management from the American Graduate School of Management.

Dr. Carolyn Koos has developed a thorough understanding of what it takes to support student achievement. Having spent all of her career in educational leadership roles, she ranks student achievement as her No. 1 focus. Dr. Koos works for the Matawan-Aberdeen School District as Interim Assistant Director of Special Services. Previously, she was principal interim for three schools in the Matawan-Aberdeen School District. As chief administrator and principal at Deer Park CCSD #82 in Ottawa, Illinois, for five years, she helped pass a $1.4 million Life/Safety bond. Additionally, she continued to develop a strong early childhood preschool program, implemented a master facilities plan, and included curriculum director among her numerous responsibilities. Prior to joining the Deer Park School District, Dr. Koos had served as chief administrator for Marquette Academy in Davenport, Iowa, followed by a job as principal administrator for Costa Catholic Academy in Galesburg, Illinois.
