Carrie Schedler

Chicago, Illinois

I'm a journalist specializing in food, arts, and culture writing, with experience covering these topics as well as politics, courts, and crime for local and national media outlets. I love magazines and longform journalism more than just about anything except ice cream.

Currently, I work for Chicago magazine. You can see an archive of my feature writing here and the brunch review blog I co-founded here.

I previously worked for Columbus Monthly, the city magazine in Columbus, Ohio.

Here are some of my favorite pieces: how a kid from rural Illinois made his family's farm the toast of Chicago, the story of food trucks in Columbus, and the backyard chickens of Bloomington, Indiana.
