Carrie Adams

I'm a working single mom of two beautiful girls, that loves to write, works for an international racing company Spartan Race, and a love for training and racing. I have a running family, The Mud Mafia, who runs races across the globe. We've logged over 2,000 racing miles and do everything from road races and snow shoe marathons to Ironman Events the Spartan Death Race. I started a Spartan Chicked movement empowering women and girls to work hard, feel strong, and connect with each other while chasing down the guys on the race course. I write about my training on my blog called www.leavingapath.com.

I write about adult humor and funny situations on my newest blog www.effandotherwords.blogspot.com. This site helps keep me laughing along the way!

I maintain a clean-eating lifestyle and talk about it at, www.keepingitclean.org - a blog dedicated to healthy eating, cooking, and nutrition. There is something very holistic about taking care of yourself so you can take care of others when you are healthy and active. Health is cultural and I want it to be a part of my legacy.

My daughters are my reason for so many things...for everything really. I am so blessed to have them and being tasked with raising confident, thoughtful, strong women is a challenge I take on with humility and joy. As a woman, we take so much time taking care of others we forget that taking care of ourselves allows us to be better mothers, employees, daughters, sisters, and friends.

Running and training have become as much a part of what moves me forward as breathing and it continues to be something in my life I can return to time and time again when I need to be refueled and recalibrated. I strive to ask myself, "I gave my life to become the person I am right now. Was it worth it?" (Richard Bach) And to answer that question each day with a decided "YES."
