Casey Phillips

Casey Phillips is a graduate of Loyola University (New Orleans) with a degree in English-Writing, and minors in Marketing and Art History. Began his career in entertainment while living in the mountains of Steamboat Springs, CO under the flag of Wake the Dead Music booking music venues & festivals. In 2001 moved back to New Orleans to co-found Infectious Publicity, a grassroots PR firm that managed bands, and talent buyers for live music venues such as TwiRoPa, Republic, Howlin Wolf, Blue Nile, and the Hi-Ho Lounge.

After hurricane Katrina, Phillips re-located to Los Angeles, CA founded the Force Agency. For the next six years the Force expanded operations on the west coast booking 12 venues including the world-famous Viper Room (Los Angeles), Tipitina's (NOLA), Mezzanine (San Francisco), and the Shed BBQ and Blues Joints across the Gulf South. This paired with the Force’s services in graphic design, social media, music licensing, and non-profit consulting made the company a premier boutique entertainment brand in the US market.

Currently Phillips serves as the Executive Director for the non-profit, public art organization the The Walls Project founded in 2012. Through an approach termed “Entrepreneurial Activism” Phillips enables highly motivated individuals and community organizations to be catalysts for cultural and social change (see TEDxLSU talk). A proponent of creative placemaking and the principles of smart growth in city planning Phillips utilizes his experience in the arts and activism to help transform the physical and social landscape of the urban and rural South.
