Celia La

Celia is a software engineer at Khan Academy, an online learning non-profit whose mission is to provide a free, world‑class education for anyone, anywhere.

She is a co-founder and board member of Write/Speak/Code, an national initiative to empower women developers to become more visible in the tech community.

On the board for Big Apple Py, she co-organizes local conferences, meetups and community outreach events (PyGotham, Hour of Code, NYC Python, NYC PyLadies).

Celia is a former board member for the NYC Chapter for UN Women, USNC(UN entity for gender equality), and formerjazz musician.

When not coding and community organizing, Celia enjoys cooking, biking, and spending time with her husband, daughter and curmudgeonly cat.
