celinecelines

My name is Céline, I am a web-native designer skilled in many aspects of design: human behavior, interaction design, information architecture, content strategy and visual design; I can make magic happen digitally (in all these web-related roles) and physically (as an event promoter/coordinator).

I love and support Open culture, Open Web Standards, Creative Commons and the Open web. I was born in Lebanon, grew up in Montreal, studied in Beirut and Paris, specialized in Inter Media and Cyber Arts in Montreal, worked in New York and have been involved in promoting Creative Commons Lebanon and Montreal. As an artist I work with video and remix found footage, create new narratives, and use karaoke to tell stories on top of remixed video collage of different eras and styles. As an experimental anthropologist, I research and observe language, culture, music, soap operas in many countries. My favorites are Bollywood movies that I re-use and remix in forms of VJ sets when DJs play music. Being part of many cultures and of mix-marriage of many languages, I have always been the ambassador of the different, and the amateur story-teller. I love people, and am passionate about freedom and culture. My artist name is celinecelines because I believe that all of us are many people living in one, and we can do so many things, and have so many different destinies. My goal is to facilitate and give the opportunity for people to cultivate their positive destinies and inspire social innovation and progressive change.
