Charles Perez has come a long way since his television appearance on the first season of MTV's reality show, The Real World. After graduating from Florida State University with a bachelor of arts in communications and public relations, Charles Perez began his successful career in television.

After hosting his own talk show, The Charles Perez Show, on social issues from 1994 to 1996, the TV personality became a news anchor and reporter for news channels across the country. He covered news as a co-host for the King World syndicated television news magazine, American Journal, reported for KCAL Channel 9 in Los Angeles, California, and worked as an anchor, most recently for WPLG in Miami, Florida.

In 2013, Charles Perez moved from television reporting to writing. He wrote and produced content both as a freelancer and correspondent for Al Jazeera America, and as a production manager at Breakfast Contigo, a Spanish language morning show based in Miami. Currently, Mr. Perez is an independent writer, speaker, and author. His articles can be seen on The Huffington Post, The Daily Beast, and the Miami Herald.
