Charles Saulson

New York, NY

After studying art and literature at Bard College, Charles Saulson found success in his early career as a metalworker and sculptor. In 1987, he founded Molten Metals, a steel fabrication shop in New York City. In the 18 years that followed, he grew the company from a one-man operation to a thriving business with 90 employees. In 1988, Charles Saulson bought a three-story brick building at 259 Bowery, from which he created an innovative six-story condominium building. To aid in achieving his vision, he founded Molten Development to handle construction concerns from steel and masonry to sheetrock. The project was completed within a year.

One of Charles Saulson's most successful development projects remains the building at 6 East First Street, in New York City. For the project, he bought a tenement building from the city and agreed to provide finished condos for the building's residents. Allowing tenants to live on site during construction, Saulson completely renovated the top floors, adding a glass penthouse as well as additional units. He recently purchased two adjacent lots on Manhattan's Lower East Side, slating them for his newest development project.

Charles Saulson supports various charitable organizations, including The Retreat, a center for victims of domestic violence. He additionally contributes to his local Buddhist community and the Sgi Buddhist Organization. An avid golfer and tennis player, Saulson has also enjoyed running and hiking as part of his global travels.

Recently, Saulson has developed an interest in landscaping, drawing on his artistic background to design unified exteriors and interiors. He has completed landscaping for several properties and gardens in the Hamptons and Rye, New York.
