I have been helping disabled people find high-tech, person-centred solutions which focus on meaningful activity since I started working in special schools in 1998.

I balance my energetic, fun and creative side with a goals-led and needs-based clinical process to ensure outcomes that make a significant difference in the quality of life for the patients and their families.

In 2013 I moved to Doha in Qatar to take on the challenge of helping families in a completely different cultural environment. In my current role I focus on:

The use of technology in early clinical intervention, as a tool for accessing play to develop early life skills and build relationships between the family and the child.

Working with speech therapists to develop and manage effective Arabic AAC solutions using aided language stimulation and core vocabulary to access culturally meaningful activities.

Exploring the benefits of immersing technology into purposeful activities for children with learning disabilities.

I manage a training programme to develop AT skills for a group of SLTs and OTs in the public health service. Education is delivered through a competency-based 'just-in-time' learning approach whereby the needs of the clinician's patients dictates the agenda for learning. I draw on my own experience in problem-based-learning to accomplish this.
