Ken Cherven
Data Visualizer, Author, and Public Speaker in Detroit, Michigan
Hi! I'm Ken, and I like to tell stories using data visualization. To do this, I blog at visualidity.com, with the idea of telling fact-based data-driven stories.
At my original site, visual-baseball.com, I tinker with baseball and other data to create visualizations. Recent work using Gephi includes creating ego networks for prominent baseball players, as well as trade networks for each baseball franchise. There are many more visualizations at visual-baseball.com/portfolio.
I'm currently working on a data visualization video series for Packt, to be released Spring and Summer 2017. I'll also be presenting at Data Viz conferences in San Francisco and New York City in April and July.
In 2016, I had the privilege of presenting at the ODSC East event in Boston, and have also spoken at the Data Visualization Summit in Boston (Sept 2015) and the Data+ Conference in Warsaw, Poland (Nov 2015).
My 2nd Gephi book for Packt Publishing was released in 2015, now available at the Packt site or through Amazon.
My first book was released in September 2013 through Packt Publishing, and is currently available online. This book provides an introduction to network analysis using Gephi, an open source network graph tool.
When I'm not busy with visualization, I like to enjoy wine, Michigan craft beers, good food, bike riding, and time with my family.
