Cheryl Saban
Artist in Los Angeles, California
I'm a Designer, Author, blogger, and women's advocate, with a real passion for working with hot glass. The concept of being able to "freeze a design in heat" fascinates me. Every time I go to the bench to make a new piece, I'm mesmerized by this art form.
In addition to blowing glass from a furnace, I also work with a torch, occasionally creating glass beads to incorporate into my jewelry designs. In these designs, I am fond of using gemstones, gold, and silver. I have a keen connection to the materials, as the crystals and gemstones carry vibrations of their own.
You can see my designs at my small Atelier on Nemo Street in West Hollywood, California, or check out my instagram, Facebook and Twitter feeds, @csd_atelier, and website, www.CherylSabanDesigns.com
A bit more about me...I've authored 16 books, and am a frequent blogger on Huffington Post, and Tumblr.
I founded the Cheryl Saban Self Worth Foundation for Women and Girls, where I committed millions to helping women and girls become healthier, more educated, and empowered. I sit on several Boards, including Girls Who Code, and the Clinton Foundation.
And I had the distinct honor of being nominated by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and appointed by President Obama to serve as a Public Delegate at the United Nations 67th General Assembly in 2012-13, and as a US Delegate to the United Nations 57th Conference of the Status of Women in 2013. Awesome experiences - truly eye opening.
I'm still crazy in love with my husband of nearly 30 years, Haim Saban. Family is all-important to me. I'm besotted with, and devoted to my four kids and four grandkids. I love nature - am thrilled when I can ski, kayak, paddle-board, swim, and just walk around amongst the trees. I wake up in gratitude every day. And of course, I choose happiness. Pursuing my artistic passion is part of that.
