Recently profiled in Essence Magazine and on The Food Networks documentary called Hunger Hits Home, Cheryl “Action” Jackson has gone from being homeless and hungry to providing over 3.4 million meals to families through her charity, Minnie’s Food Pantry, named after her mother, Minnie Ewing.
Her food pantry allows families to receive a red carpet experience when they come to get food for their family. The BET Network was moved by her efforts and awarded Minnie's Food Pantry with $30,000.
Jackson is a pioneer, a motivational speaker and a million dollar fundraiser that gets results with her keynote messages. Steve Harvey gave Jackson the "Harvey's Hero" award along with a gift of $25,000 from Hillshire Farm. She is the winner of the Local Lady Godiva Fall campaign.
Jackson has appeared on the national tv show “The Talk” , Deal or No Deal, The Marriage Ref was also interviewed Dr. Maya Angelou. America fell in love with Jackson when her team became the first winners on the American Bible Challenge. Jackson has also appeared on national television shows ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, the AP Oprah farewell reel and many more. Jackson has spoken on small platforms to large corporations like the Zig Ziglar Corporation and she recently spoke for First Lady Serita Jakes of The Potters House at her God’s Leading Ladies workshop. Jackson was honored by Pastor Donnie McClurklin for having "A Heart of Gold" and The Huffington Post honored Jackson as the "Greatest Person of The Day".
