Cheryl Hoffman-Bray

Cheryl Hoffman-Bray has amassed considerable experience in executive finance roles, having led the finance departments of Albany Memorial Health Systems, Inc.; New England Deaconess Hospital; and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Cheryl Hoffman holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from The State University of New York at Albany.

Currently, Cheryl Hoffman-Bray oversees all finance-related operations for the Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC), as the nonprofit's chief financial officer and vice president, positions she has held since 2006. Cheryl Hoffman also advises the other members of the EDC senior management team on federal regulations, business strategy, and profitability. From 2004 to 2006, Hoffman-Bray served as the senior advisor to the Executive Dean at Harvard University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Previously, Hoffman served as chief financial officer and Dean of Finance, overseeing the faculty budget and all financial systems. In addition, Cheryl Hoffman also introduced a new Payroll Services and Adapt Support Team to improve customer service in the finance department.

Prior to joining Harvard University, Hoffman-Bray served as chief financial officer and senior vice president of finance at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. She introduced a number of significant changes to the hospital during her tenure there, including the establishment of cost standards, yearly finance goals, and long-term finance forecasting. She also supervised the integration of the finance departments of Beth Israel Hospital and New England Deaconess Hospital during their merger in 1996, ensuring that the transition of the two departments would be accomplished as efficiently as possible.

Over the course of her career, Hoffman-Bray has served as a board member to a number of organizations, including the Northeastern New York Chapter and Massachusetts Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, for which she also served as president. In addition, Cheryl Hoffman-Bray has acted as audit committee chair and director of the board of Ceragenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and as the chair and director the Nonprofit Board Resource Committee of The Boston Club.
