My work is about art and business: building bridges between creative practice, education and the creative industries:

I'm currently Digital Arts National Program Director at Tec de Monterrey, board member of Las Maquinitas - Ventana Sur (a bridge between the game and audiovisual industries), and a PhD candidate at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). My thesis explores free play as a fundamental learning experience when confronting software.

I believe games belong in museums, universities and public spaces usually reserved for art and design. I founded the game lab and game area at the Centro de Cultura Digital (Secretaría de Cultura, Mexico) and and co-founded DEVHR, the International Games Forum.

As an academic, artist and cultural manager, my practice spans game-based learning, esports, communty building, innovation, hackathons, game jams, pedagogy, simulation, role-playing, ludoliteracy, and geek culture. Yes, there was once a TEDx Talk about this journey.
