Chris Tavelli

Owner of Yield Wine Bar in the laid back bohemian industrial neighborhood of Dogpatch and Pause Wine Bar in the newly minted SF 'hood "The Hub", Chris is also the wine director at famed Millennium restaurant in San Francisco. When asked how he got into the wine business his simple answer is, “By drinking wine!” Passionate about the fruits of the earth Tavelli inked tattoos of an avocado on one arm and brussel sprouts on the other. He is warm and engaging, structured yet casual - all traits he brings to the atmosphere of his wine bars. “Although I had many opportunities to join the wine-making part of the business,” says Tavelli, “I have always known my strength lies in understanding the complexities of wine, building a wine list, and helping people decide what wine they want to drink.”
