Christina has been working in the veterinary and animal welfare communities for twelve years, from her first job at age fifteen as a veterinary assistant to her current position as a surgery/ICU nurse at Blue Pearl Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center in Overland Park, KS. She has also volunteered with the HSUS Disaster Animal Relief Team (DART) and served the non-human victims of Hurricane Katrina in the summer of 2005, aiding in the search and rescue effort and caring for hundreds of dogs and cats in a makeshift shelter in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Animals are her first passion, and she is proud of the work she does every day to save and enrich their lives.

In addition to her work with companion animals, Christina is also an artist and photographer. Her pet-themed art can be viewed and purchased at Queen of Paws Boutique and Spa in Prairie Village Kansas. Meadowlark Studios, an aggregation of her artistic endeavors, can be found on Twitter and Facebook.

Christina's ultimate goal in life is to attend Scripp's Institute of Oceanography and obtain a PhD in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation. She has always been enamoured by the ocean and hopes one day to be instrumental in helping to preserve its beauty and instill in others her passion for marine life.
