Christine Holley

Thornton, Colorado

A native of the Texas Panhandle, Dr. Christine Holley, felt a strong call while in elementary school to both performing and teaching. She danced and sang in choirs and musicals through high school before attending Texas Tech University on a voice scholarship. She subsequently earned her Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music in Voice from West Texas State University. She spent a year in Tokyo, Japan where she attended Sophia University, modeled professionally, and taught English conversation classes before returning to Texas where she earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance at the University of Texas at Austin.

After teaching voice at the University of Texas as a graduate student, Dr. Holley went on to teach Applied Voice, Allied Arts (art, music, and theater), and Music Appreciation classes as an adjunct faculty member at Southwestern University, the University of Southern Mississippi, William Carey University, and Pearl River College. She sang with the Ohio Light Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, and Southwest Texas Music Festival as well as regional theater and as a guest artist at several universities before turning her attention to directing and teaching. She was Assistant Director and Vocal Coach at Opera in the Ozarks for three seasons.

Christine Wright has her teaching certification in North Carolina and in Texa s in Music K-12, Theater K-12, Secondary History, and Elementary Education.
