Christine Tizzard

This Newfoundland native and mother of two has been passionate about food, film, fashion and television for as long as she can remember.

She was scouted in a mall fashion show at the age of 15 and, soon after being ‘discovered’, Christine began modelling for beauty campaigns around the world. Building on her modelling career, she then honed her talents as a trained actor for both film and television and has appeared on-screen in high-profile productions for networks like HBO and ABC Family.

No matter where her adventures in front of the camera would take her, though, her obsession for food was always there. She never forgot her love of cooking at an early age, when she would help her mother bake bread. She longed to return to those culinary roots.

Christine recently rekindled that love of cooking and baking, enrolling in the Chef Training program at George Brown College in Toronto, where she graduated with Honours. Since then, she’s developed her skills at some of the top restaurants in Toronto, bringing her down-home attitude to big city kitchens.

Christine can also be found working behind the scenes as a food stylist or in her kitchen crafting homemade artisan goods. Her culinary accomplishments include: regular appearances on CityLine, Rogers, and CBC’s Steven and Chris as a guest chef, a food column in Bamboo Magazine, plus various culinary demonstrations at tradeshow and food events. She can also be heard regularly across Canada talking food with CBC’s top radio syndications.

Christine’s down-to-earth and vivacious personality is contagious. She believes in looking and feeling good and is always eager to share her enthusiasm for great food and good living with others.

Christine is thrilled to join CBC Television and Canada’s most popular daily food show, Best Recipes Ever, as its new host beginning last season in 2012. Season 5 is now in full swing, and she looks forward to choosing her favorite dishes from Canadian Living’s renowned ‘Tested-Till-Perfect’ recipe library, and bringing them to life every day for Canadians coast-to-coast.

Christine Tizzard lives in Toronto with her husband and two children, ages 8 and 12.
