Christopher Budd

Seattle, WA

Christopher is an expert on crisis communications with an emphasis on new social media technologies. A ten-year veteran of the Microsoft Corporation, Christopher oversaw and managed worldwide communications around security and privacy incidents affecting Microsoft customers. During his tenure at Microsoft, he pioneered new strategies and tactics embracing new media technologies that dramatically improved the handling of incidents and helped better protect customers.

Christopher is a seasoned spokesperson and speaker and presenter, having led a monthly security webcast for Microsoft from 2003 to 2009 as well as numerous presentations on communications and technology.

Christopher is a published author of numerous articles on technology and co-author of two books. He has also authored numerous non-technical articles on topics ranging from history to philosophy and gaming and is a contributing author to a book on the history of philosophy.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Religion from Oberlin College and a Master of Arts in Philosophy with honors from St. John’s College.

His interests include music, which he writes about at the Andante music blog, history, philosophy, psychology, mythology, and comparative religion. He lives outside of Seattle with his family, including four cats and two dogs.
