Christopher Hsu

Christopher Hsu is widely regarded as one of the leading private equity advisors and investors in Asia. Mr. Hsu is currently the CEO and Managing Partner of Hong Kong-based Kilometre Capital, a private equity and hedge fund advisory firm. In 2013, Chris Hsu led the $1.8 billion USD buyout of Spreadtrum Communications by Tsinghua University, China’s most prestigious science and engineering college, the $910 million USD buyout of RDA Microelectronics, and the $3.0 billion buyout of Giant Interactive Group.

Mr. Hsu previously served as CEO and Founding Partner at Abax Global Capital, one of Asia’s leading private equity and hedge funds. Chris Hsu led Abax to a precedent-setting joint venture with Morgan Stanley Investment Management and later, China Development Bank.

Before founding Abax and Kilometre, Chris Hsu was Managing Director at Citadel Investment Group, one of the world’s largest hedge funds. In that capacity, Mr. Hsu founded Citadel’s special situations and private investing businesses in China and Hong Kong.

A native of Taiwan, Chris Hsu attended Stanford University, where he graduated with a Stanford President’s Award and completed a BS with honors in industrial engineering and management science engineering in two-and-a-half years.
