Christopher Zoukis

At the young age of 25, Christopher Zoukis is an already award-winning author, his work having appeared in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, The Kansas City Star, Basil & Spice, the Midwest Book Review, The Sacramento Bee, EzineArticles.com, Wopular.com, Rain Taxi, SF Gate, and Blogcritics, in addition to numerous other publications. Ever since 2006, however, his senior year of high school, Christopher Zoukis has been incarcerated. Currently he is in the Petersburg Correctional Complex in Virginia. In the five years he has spent institutionalized, Zoukis has undergone rigorous, self-imposed transformation through spiritual and educational pursuits. By 2008, after 24 months behind bars, Christopher Zoukis had retired his self-destructive behaviors and self-loathing, giving way to a changed man with bright hopes and dreams for the future. Through his newfound spiritual enlightenment gained from daily religious study, he accepted Jesus as his Savior and embraced a new perspective on life and the celebration of its possibilities. His spiritual reformation was a guiding light, leading him to enroll in Global University in the same year to pursue ministerial studies. Christopher Zoukis engaged in additional academic coursework in 2009 while continuing his ministerial education, enlisting in multiple paralegal courses through Blackstone Career Institute. After only five months, he graduated with distinction and received a Diploma in Paralegal Studies. He then continued on in his legal studies and received an Advanced Certificate in Criminal Law and Procedure. In 2010, Zoukis acquired a Certified Minister Certificate, which gave him the credentials for appeal to become a Certified Minister. Today, Christopher Zoukis attends Ohio University’s Bachelor of Specialized Studies program, focusing his studies in English and sociology. He anxiously awaits the publication of his first book, Education Behind Bars, which is scheduled for release in December 2011. Zoukis’ 650+ page paperbound functions as a reference guide to educational opportunities for the prisoner-student.
